Security & data

Your business rules stay in control.

We'd rather tell you exactly what happens to your data than hand you a vague “bank-level security” badge. Here's the plain version.

What we collect

The business information you give us during setup (services, hours, service area, pricing guidance, booking rules), and the information a call produces: caller name and number, what they needed, a summary, and, when enabled, a recording. We also collect standard account and billing information.

Where it's stored

Your account data and call records are stored in a managed Postgres database (Supabase), with access controlled at the account level so one client can never see another client's data. Billing is handled entirely by Stripe, we never see or store your card number.

Who can access it

You and whoever you've given login access to. Starkby staff access account data only to build, support, or troubleshoot your receptionist, not for any other purpose, and never to sell or share it.

Call recordings

Calls can be recorded so you can review exactly what was said. Recordings and transcripts are visible only in your dashboard. If you need a specific recording policy for your state or industry, tell us during setup and we'll configure it before you go live, rather than applying one script to every business.

Retention and deletion

Your data stays available in your dashboard for as long as your account is active. If you close your account and want your call data and recordings deleted rather than retained, contact us and we'll take care of it.

Who we work with

The vendors that touch your data today: Supabase (database), Stripe (billing), and Vercel (hosting). We'll update this page if that list changes.

Certifications

Starkby does not currently hold SOC 2 or HIPAA certification, and we won't claim either until the underlying architecture actually supports it. If your business has specific compliance requirements, tell us before you sign up so we can tell you honestly whether we're a fit yet.

If something goes wrong

If you notice anything unusual with your account or a security concern, reach us through the contact page or call us directly, we'll treat it as urgent.
